Scripture: Proverbs 8:10-11 Choose my instructions instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice good; for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Observation Yesterday I encountered a man who has not been in a church for twenty years. He was in the world making money hand over fist. But a cancerous tumour hits him and suddenly he turns back to God. His money did him no good. Wisdom is better than gold or sliver or rubies The fear of the LORD, Proverbs begins with: the fear of the LORD is the source of all wisdom. (Yesterday I sat behind a couple of boys who were trading the most important word they would ever hear for video games!) Fear the LORD. It’s always better.
Application I do get hung up about money, though I know better and try not to be. There are financial needs (wants?) that I’m not sure how to do with them. But it’s all God’s, not mine. As long as I do not make the financial stuff more important in my life than God, I’ll be okay.
Life application for today Today I will consider our financial and trust God with them.
Prayer Lord, you are more than able to meet my needs so I will trust you.
